Tour Cuca – Our Lady of Vipers

The tour Cuca is one of my favorite walks.

Cuca

It is not difficult at all, both in terms of effort and time! To keep a steady pace and make some stops and it takes at most one’ now.

I like it in the evening, before dinner, when the commitments of the day you are exhausted, with my dog Tex.

DEPARTURE dal B&B Casa Dolce Casa.

I used to walk in this suddivere 3 party:

  1. Of VIA Vanini – to Santella THE MADONNA OF vipers
  2. By MADONNA vipers – to CUCA
  3. By CUCA – to CHURCH OF CONTRADA Grimoldo

1) The first section is the simplest and is also suitable for the elderly. The church is, in fact, much frequented by ladies of the country.

From my B&B takes the left and go down to’ junction with the provincial. From there it goes to the right, you pass by the stone fountain and take the Via Vanini.

It runs all the way from the bottom and the same is still going in the direction of Ca’ Palasí. Here, the paved road ends and begins the path that leads to the Madonna of the Vipers. The trail is very well maintained, why not difficult and you can deal with the normal type shoes.

In 5 minutes to reach the Tribulina where you can take a break on the benches and here ends the first part of the walk.

2) The second section extends through the forest: the path becomes a little more up close and summer is covered with foliage that is best traveled with the mountain scarponicini.

From the church there into the woods on the right. Initially falls, then goes back. Along the way are the branches: should always keep to the right.

At some point there is an open space; the road that leads to the Cuca is the first right, but if you want to make a slight detour from the main path you can go left and get on top of a small promontory from which you can see the impressive Santella Peta perched on rocks and plunged into the woods (is reachable from Zorzone). We return to the open space and recovers the high road, on the right that leads into the forest.

Quest’ last stretch is uphill and the latest piece is quite steep. At the end of the climb, exit the woods. If you climb up to the bull still a piece of wood from where you can enjoy a great view: can be seen from one side the Alben, Over the Hill and on the left also Zambla, dalla'altro Zorzone.

3) The third and last part of the walk is very easy.

By Cuca, near the white house, you could get a very wide path, regular and well cared for, bordered by a row of trees, up to the church of Grimoldo where the paved road again. Holding the right to return to B&B.

Over the Hill by Cuca

Of course the walk is feasible even in the opposite, Cuca from Madonna to the Vipers and then up Via Vanini, if you want to avoid the climb heavier, ie one that leads to the forest Cuca, personalmnte But I think it is better in this sense. The choice is yours!
